The casting of Finnick is still not something we have news on, but we’d like to let the world know who many people want to be cast in the role. We want Armie Hammer to trend on Twitter, or the hashtag Armie4Finnick, or if you’re feeling funny, Farmie Ohammer, but most of all we want Armie4Finnick to trend. Can it be done? We hope so! So, we’re asking those of you who have a Twitter account to get on Twitter at 3 pm PST, 6 pm EST, or 11 pm GMT today, July 11th, 2012, and tweet the hell out of the hashtag (#) Armie4Finnick or Armie Hammer. Even if he’s not cast, the world will know about it, and people will take note.
#ArmieHammer #Armie4Finnick #FarmieOhammer.

I wrote another open letter to Armie Hammer regarding many people’s desire for him to consider the role of Finnick Odair. He responded to the last one so… wish me luck!

The best advocating article written about Armie Hammer being the perfect Finnick, and amazingly it wasn’t written by a Hunger Games fandom member!

This is happening even to our Facebook page, so if you have “liked” our Facebook, and you’re only one who peruses the picture of the day, or the news posts we post, and it’s been decidedly quiet in your newsfeeds regarding us, this is why! We also have a Twitter, which is directly connected to our Facebook, so it’s much more active than our Tumblr, I’d suggest following that account so you can stay in the know on what’s going on with the page, and the Armie for Finnick Campaign.
This was today’s Picture of the Day if you’re at all curious.

Armie’s still on the list, so is Garrett, but now we’re getting Trevor Donovan, Lucas Till (who was a top contender for Peeta and is EXACTLY 5 days older than JENNIFER LAWRENCE), and an alum from Smallville and Blue Mountain State, Alan Ritchson. Wondering who the other three people are now…
I have major problems with people who were almost a hairs breath from being cast as Peeta, supposedly being in the running for Finnick. That being said, I have major respect for Till, he was cast in Stoker opposite Mia Wasikowska, and Nicole Kidman, I’ve read the script by Wentworth Miller, and it’s seriously something that I see being nominated for best original screenplay. But Till, he’s not exactly tall, he’s too young to pass for someone in their mid 20s, and he’s not an Adonis by most people’s standards. As for the rest, not really keen on any of them except Garrett, and of course absolutely Armie.
These reports are yet again UNSUBSTANTIATED as well.

We’re trying to get the Armie Hammer for Finnick Odair Facebook page to 2,000 likes by the end of the month. Casting may be announced by then, and if things go the way we really really hope they do, 2,000 likes would only be a drop in the bucket when and if Armie is cast. So, if you haven’t liked the page yet, please go do that. And please, spread the word!
Lenny Kravitz’s casting was announced via Twitter through the official Lionsgate Twitter handle, and the tweet was tweeted towards the end of a live internet radio show called The HG Fireside Chat. So, essentially The HG Fireside Chat panel announced the casting, because everyone in the fandom was listening to them, and they use Twitter heavily during their shows. It was actually pretty hilarious, because it was a mad scramble for sanity for about 5 minutes.
That is a question for Armie Hammer himself, I am just a fan of his. But hypothetically if he wants the role of Finnick, he’d have to drop out of probably one of the projects he’s signed on for, which happens all the time. Also, several of the titles listed on IMDB have not been confirmed, I’d say Serpent Girl and 2.22 shouldn’t be taken seriously as this point.
Taylor Kitsch is officially out of the running for Finnick Odair, and both Hedlund and Hammer are allegedly still in, or never were. Still crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes that Armie’s name is still on the proverbial table.

Armie Hammer is the PERFECT Finnick. I really, Really, REALLY hope he gets cast in the role.
We also really, really, REALLY hope he’s offered the role and he takes it.
Oh, an thanks to Courtney of Welcome To District 12 for making this graphic all those months ago, still makin’ the rounds… that’s staying power, yo.
Armie gets a sizable few paragraphs written up on him being an ideal Finnick. Go read stuff, and comment too!
