First of all, I have not gotten attached to any potential actor for Finnick because I figure there are plenty of attractive, talented, 20-somethings in Hollywood who could do a great job with the role. So I’m not saying this because I’m supporting Armie Hammer in particular, just because I’ve seen a couple of weird opinions, from multiple people, on my dash about his ability to play Finnick. It’s fine if you don’t like him, but I don’t understand these reasons:

1. Some people object to Armie because he’s so tall? Well, it seems the specific complaint is that he will make Josh Hutcherson look shorter. Josh is short; Finnick’s casting won’t change this. But you know what? It works for the characters. Finnick towers over Peeta in the book. If he does so more in the movies, that would be fine, maybe even better. Finnick’s the jaw-dropping hunk of Panem. Gale’s the guy girls swoon over in D12. Peeta’s the cute-enough guy who sometimes feels overlooked, often with reason, by his family, his crush, sponsors, everybody. So, I see Josh’s height as an unintended bonus to his portrayal of Peeta. Bring on a tall Finnick!
2. Next, some people complain about Armie’s hair not being bronze. This one makes zero sense to me. I think “bronze” is a nearly perfect description of his hair color.      

He’s perfect as far as we’re concerned, and it’ll never be understood why people take issue with such minute things like height, which is actually a specific description of the character, and his hair color— which also is bronze depending upon if a hair stylist has not blonded him up more than usual.

I’m probably gonna get hate for this, but I’m still rooting for Armie Hammer for Finnick. I remember the first time I saw someone suggest him I was amazed because he’s EXACTLY how I pictured Finnick. I know everyone’s rooting for Garrett, and I won’t be upset if he’s cast, but I just think Armie would be a really good choice.

Um, not everyone is rooting for Garrett. I know more people who are Armie supporters than Garrett supporters, so….

so i’m still really surprised that Hunter Parrish isn’t in the running for Finnick especially since he was in the running for Peeta. He would be my first choice. But looking at the three supposed choices they’re looking at now (armie hammer, taylor kitsch, and garrett hedlund) i would have to say I really like armie hammer for the role.

I got to chill with armie hammer for a little bit last year at a screening for the social network and he seems to really dive into any role he gets and takes it very seriously (he’s also a really nice guy). So i feel like he could really give it his all and do a fantastic job for the role of Finnick.

so…yupp. guess that’s all i have to say about that.

Yep, he’s a catch all around. They’d be lucky to have him on board, and more. Also, his wife bakes!
